Regional Report 9/08/2012 Lan World, MN

Hi everyone, this is PK from Teamkhang and I am back with a Regional report for the new September Banlist. There was over 250 Duelists, 8 Rounds Swiss, Cut Top 32 invites.  My deck choice was Laval Quasar.  Below are my matches.

Round 1

Laval Quasar (Me) vs. Karakuri (Won) 1-0

Game1: LP 8000-7500-4700 to 8000-0 Quasar OTK

Game2: LP 8000-5800-4800 to 8000-6100-0  Took a little time to set up.  But end with Quasar + System Down.

Round 2

Laval Quasar (Me) vs. Wind-Up (Won) 2-0

Game1: LP 8000-4200-0 to 8000-6000 He locked me with Shock Master.

Game 2: LP 8000-700 to 8000-???-???-0 Could not remember what the LP was but I won with Mist Wurm and Black Rose.

Game 3: 8000-7200-5700-1800-400 to 8000-6000-4900-950-0 I started with a hand full of monsters. He started with 5 traps/spells.  I end up using all his defense cards and rekindly for game. 

Round 3

Laval Quasar (Me) vs. Blackwing (Won) 3-0

Game 1: 8000-6200-4500-2700-1200 to 8000-0 Quasar OTK

Game 2: 8000 to 8000-7400-3400 I Special Quasar but he survived the attack.  He scoop during his turn.

Round 4

Laval Quasar (Me) vs. Rabbit Dino (Won) 4-0

Game 1: 8000-5700-3400-1100-500 to 8000-3000-2000-100-0 He locked me with Dolkka.  But I came back and took the win.

Game 2: 8000-5900-4000-1900-0 to 8000-6100.  He control early and won.

Game 3: 8000-5700-4900 to 8000-7700-6000-3400-1700-0 He controlled early, but I end up with T.G. Hyper and Gaia Knight for the win.

Round 5

Laval Quasar (Me) vs. Wind-Up (Won) 5-0

Round 1: 8000-7900-5800 to 8000-7100-6200-0 Don’t remember how I won.

Round 2: 8000-6700-4400-1600 to 8000-6300-3700-0 He control the field with Wind-up Rabbit and Shock Master.  I set my MST as a bluff for my opponent to call trap with Shock Master’s Effect, which he did.  On my next turn I activated MST on his facedown, then rekindling 3 Handmadien and 1 Cannonneer to the field, Synchro into T.G. Hyper, activated one for one discarding battle fader, special another battle fader from deck, synchro into Formula Synchron, draw 1 card from T.G. Hyper and 1 card from Formula Synchron, draw Firedog and Heavy Storm, Normal Summon Firedog, synchro into Slasher, and then synchro into Quasar.  

Round 6

Laval Quasar (Me) vs. D-Hero Photon (Lost) 5-1

Game 1: 8000-5200 to 8000-5300-400-0 I sychron into Laval Stennon and set up my graveyard.  When he got rid of my Stennon, I rekindling into T.G. Hyper and Mist Wurm. He Soul Exchange my Mist Wurm, tribute it and set a monster.  Then during my turn, I activated Lakeside Lady effect for game.

Game 2: 8000-6100-4200-2100-0 to 8000-6000-4300-2300 I set up everything but could not draw into a Rekindling.

Game 3: 8000-7900-7600-4900-3000-0 to 8000-7700 Same and game 2.  I setup my graveyard but no Rekindling.

Round 7

Laval Quasar (Me) vs. Plant Synchro(Won) 6-1

Game1:  8000-6200 to 8000-6300-4600-3600-3000-1000-0 I finally got Quasar out when he was down to 1000LP.

Game 2: 8000-7400-6100 to 8000-7000-4400-0 I have T.G. Hyper out and he synchro into Orient Dragon, removing my T.G. Hyper.  Judge ruled that I still draw for T.G. Hyper.  During my turn I activated Foolish Burial and have a Rekindling in hand. 

Round 8

Laval Quasar (Me) vs. Heroes (Won) 7-1

Game 1: 8000-6500-6000-900 to 8000-0 Quasar for game.

Game 2: 8000-6000-4000-2800-1600 to 8000-9000-????-0 I control with Gorz then Stardust.  Could not remember the LP, but I have to battle through his Fiendish chain to get the win.
